The Inserting of the Passages into the Tefillin

The passages which have been written on one piece of parchment are rolled up from the end to the beginning and inserted into the hollow space of the Bayit Shel Yad, after first having been bound by an additional piece of parchment tied with threads of calves' hair.

The passages which have been written on separate pieces of parchment are inserted in a prescribed order into the four empty spaces inside the Bayit Shel Rosh; after first having been bound by an additional piece of parchment tied with threads of calves' hair.
